"To Be in Love"

 

I believe this poem also represents racism, or the significance between blacks ands whites. "You look at things through his eyes a cardinal is red a sky is blue" is a line in which she noticably mentions color. "You cannot look into his eyes because your pulse must not say what must be said" shows that they can not express each other's ture feelings because of their differences and how society may respond. THis poem makes me think of two individuals, male and female, black and white, meting for the first time and falling in love at first site.
